Irizar at Persontrafik
Irizar’s offering PHEV, CNG and electric technologies at the Persontrafik Fair in Stockholm
At stand C13:10, Irizar is showing three of the latest generation of Irizar: an Irizar i6S Efficient Scania PHEV, which was recently awarded with the Sustainable Bus Award 2027, an Irizar i4 CNG and one Irizar ie bus Efficient. Irizar is thus demonstrating its commitment to decarbonisation, with three reference vehicles in sustainable mobility that will shape the present and future of transport.
Irizar, together with our distributor Lecab, have had a strong and successful year in Sweden. During the year, vehicles were delivered in both tourist and regional traffic. We therefore showcase three latest generation vehicles from our Efficient range at the Persontrafik trade fair.
The Irizar i6S Efficient Scania PHEV, awarded with the Sustainable Bus Awas in the coach segment, is the first plug-in hybrid coach on the market, which, like the rest of the Irizar Efficient range, features aerodynamic improvements and weight reductions. These improvements, together with the enhanced efficiency of the hybrid chassis, result in reductions in fuel consumption and emissions of over 30%.
In hybrid mode, the vehicle offers a range and performance that are specially optimised for long-distance journeys, where the combination of the combustion and electric motors maximises energy efficiency. The charge-sustaining mode, meanwhile, preserves the battery’s energy level for later use, while the forced-charging mode uses the combustion engine to recharge the battery when greater energy capacity is required.
The Irizar i4 CNG has been recently recognised with the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The vehicle has undergone the Life Cycle Assesment through which its environmental impact has been analysed, from the start to the end of its lifespan. This environmental declaration is developed in accordance with the ISO 14025 standard. Therefore, it reinforces our commitment to sustainability, technological innovation and the continuous improvement of our products’ environmental footprint.
Lastly, Irizar e-mobility presents the new Irizar ie bus Efficient, unveiled last year at Busworld. This Class I 100% electric vehicle includes significant advances in efficiency, capacity, accessibility, comfort, safety, and sustainability. Thanks to a new structural concept, a weight reduction around 1000 kg has been achieved, which increases passenger capacity by 5% in relation to the previous generation. Regarding accessibility, the new model has wider doors, aisles and passenger flows, which guarantees easier, more comfortable, and more inclusive access for everybody.
