AN INVESTMENT OF OVER 12 MILLION EUROS AND OVER 3 YEARS OF DEDICATION

The ever-faithful commitment of IRIZAR with its dedication and its work well done, has once more borne its fruits.

Three years of research with entities, suppliers, clients and passengers, with the participation of the entire staff at IRIZAR, have had the sole objective of allowing us to offer our clients the product and the service which is best suited to their particular needs. This dedication has resulted in the IRIZAR i4 vehicle which has been perfectly adapted to suit trajectories in the mid to short distance range.

The demanding foundations, gave way to the decision to create the four fundamental pillars that have supported the development over the last three years:

• A modern design that is coherent with the Irizar image; style with its own character, dynamic, robust and safe
• The application of the knowledge involving the technologies from the sector
• The knowledge, experience and enthusiasm of the personnel team at Irizar

The IRIZAR i4 bus has been designed and developed to specifically address the passenger transport segment, covering short to middle distance travel. The safety and comfort of the passengers, in conjunction with the cost effectiveness for the vehicle operators have been two of the most important premises on which IRIZAR has based its i4 project. The functionality and the reliability of both the product and the service, along with the company image are upheld as differential values of the IRIZAR brand.

The new vehicle has been designed to be positioned in the passenger transport segment in significant urban concentrations, with short to mid distance services, for both discretional and regular services, thus amplifying and complementing the existing IRIZAR range of products.

The first bus units shall be ready for delivery to our clients in the coming summer months.

SAFETY

The IRIZAR i4 bus has been designed and constructed in compliance with the future R66.01 safety regulations. It provides an increase of 35% in the resistance of the cabin or passenger area of the bus should it overturn, all this taking into consideration the masses of the passengers with their respective seatbelts fastened.

By means of its structural design, the IRIZAR i4 absorbs 50% of the energy that is generated in a head-on collision thus reducing the effects of the collision and thereby increasing the safety of the vehicle and its passengers.  Furthermore, the design increases the flex figures by 80% and torsion figures by 30%, thereby achieving greater levels of driving stability.

The driver space has been increased and the driver's accessibility has been optimised for all the driving controls and the necessary accessory elements for the different bus services provided.

In the same way, the capacity of the antifogging system has been increased by 50% to reduce the time needed to demist the windows.

RELIABILITY

The research and our experience from being the leading Spanish company in the manufacture of bus and coach bodywork, has benefited the company in terms of poviding greater reliability for the model that IRIZAR is presenting here.

All of the industrial manufacturing solutions have been based on the reliability of the processes used in the rest of the models from the IRIZAR range. In the same way, the systems for the climate control, lighting and the opening and closing of the doors have passed all tests and have been improved following the manufacturing experience in all the models within the IRIZAR range.

COST EFFECTIVENESS

The IRIZAR i4 model follows the same values as the other vehicles in the IRIZAR range and once more reaffirms its cost effectiveness for clients.

The new aspects in the design contribute to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and give robustness to the product and a resale value that is above average for the market, as has also been seen and demonstrated with the rest of the IRIZAR range. The company has also planned a guarantee period that not only reaffirms its industrial solidity, but also demonstrates the concern to provide a higher level of service to its portfolio of clients.
