On 22, 23 and 24 of June IRIZAR received the visit of the
European assessors of its candidature to the European Accolade
for Business Excellence (EQA) awarded by the EFQM.
This visit is a result of Irizar surpassing 500 points,
according to the EFQM model, following the first analysis
of their 75 page report by the assessors.
The objectives of the visit were:
1. To confirm that the presentation document reflects the
real situation of IRIZAR.
2. To clarify doubts concerning the document.
3. To see if the work atmosphere and involvement of persons
shows that we are a Model of Excellence organisation.
4. To re-assess us through the visit, after which the decision
will be taken on whether we achieve the position of: Finalists
or Winners of the E.F.Q.M. Award.
During their visit the assessors went round all the installations,
and had direct contact with 150 persons from Irizar (25%
of the total) through personal interviews with Members of
the Management Committee, E.F.Q.M. coordinator and proprietors
of the IRIZAR processes, and group meetings (of a maximum
of 12 persons) organised in accordance with their requests
(Members of the Supervisory Board and Social Council, members
of improvement teams, users of the information system, direct
and indirect personnel, direct personnel leaders, etc.).
The final decision on the position of Finalists or Winners
of the E.F.Q.M. award will be made known at the end of October
1999.
